DeLille Cellars Woodinville – Wine Tasting Highlights

During our Woodinville wine weekend, DeLille Cellars was, without question, my favorite stop. Their tasting room is everything you want in a wine experience—elegant yet comfortable, with big windows letting in soft light and a buzz of happy conversation in the background. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like old friends. Jamie, our server, guided us with warmth and enthusiasm, and Elaine kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I especially loved that they customized our tasting, making us feel like we were the only guests in the room.

DeLille Cellars Woodinville

A Winery with a Rich Story

Founded in 1992, DeLille Cellars was one of the first in Washington to focus on Bordeaux-style blends. Their commitment to sourcing from the state’s most prestigious vineyards, such as Grand Ciel, Harrison Hill, and Ciel du Cheval, has earned them over 900 90+ scores from top wine critics. In 2019, they moved into the renovated Old Redhook Brewery in Woodinville’s Hollywood District, creating a stunning three-story tasting space that seamlessly blends history and modern elegance.

Our Personalized DeLille Cellars Woodinville Tasting

We started with the Forget-Me-Not Sparkling Rosé. I’m a sucker for a good sparkling wine, and this one had the perfect balance of freshness and fruit. It was bright and lively—exactly the kind of wine that makes you want to linger over conversation. I remember taking that first sip and instantly relaxing into the day.

Next was the 2024 Roussanne (100% Roussanne). The floral and honeydew notes reminded me of spring mornings—soft, fresh, and full of promise. I actually paused after my first taste just to let the lilac aroma linger, because it was so unique.

Then came the 2022 White Bluffs Riesling (100% Riesling). I’m not always a Riesling drinker, but this one completely won me over. The crisp Meyer lemon and juicy pear flavors were like a palate reset, and I found myself thinking it would be perfect with spicy Thai food on a warm summer evening.

Moving Into the Reds

The 2022 Saffron Fields Pinot Noir (100% Pinot Noir) was everything I love about Pinot, light yet complex. It had that earthy, mushroom note that makes you think of fall leaves, but the cranberry and rose petals gave it an elegance. I could have happily sipped it all afternoon.

Then came a real treat—a side-by-side of the 2022 D2 Red Blend and 2022 Chaleur Estate Red Blend.

  • The D2 was smooth and approachable, with notes of black currant and mocha that felt cozy and familiar, like a well-worn sweater you can’t bear to part with.
  • The Chaleur Estate, though, stole my heart. Dark fruit, espresso, and a savory depth. It was the kind of wine that made me stop mid-conversation just to savor it. This was my winner by a mile.

We also tried the 2020 Four Flags Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon). Bold, powerful, and beautifully structured, it’s the kind of Cab that makes you wish for a perfectly grilled steak.

A Special Surprise

Our timing couldn’t have been better. We were there for the release of the 2024 Chaleur Blanc. We tasted it alongside the 2023 vintage:

  • The 2023 (69% Sauvignon Blanc, 31% Sémillon) was fresh and zesty, with a brightness that made it my favorite.
  • The 2024 (70/30 blend) was a bit rounder and richer, beautiful in its own way.

It felt special to be part of that release day, almost like we were getting a peek behind the curtain at a new chapter in DeLille’s story.

Why DeLille Stands Out

Between the incredible wines, over-the-top hospitality, and the way each tasting felt personal and memorable, DeLille Cellars was the highlight of our Woodinville wine weekend. It’s more than just a place to taste wine. It’s a place where history, craft, and connection come together in every glass.
